Karwar: On Wednesday October 13, a massive fire broke out at Arbali Ghat in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district when a tanker carrying chemical capsized.

As per the reports, the incident happened at 7.30 am between Ankola and Yellapur.  A tanker was transporting benzene from MRPL’s OAPL subsidiary to a Gujarat paint company.

Following the fire, this road was closed. Firefighters and police officials rushed to the spot shortly after the accident for assistance.

According to the sources, the fire outbreak affected 2 km of lush forest.
