Karwar: A 40-year-old man from Dandeli town of the Uttara Kannada district, was recently shot dead in Dharwad. The incident, which is reported to have occurred on the Nigadi Road, on the outskirts of Dharwad, has shocked the locals.

The deceased has been identified as Shyamsundar Devaraj, a native of Dandeli.

It is learnt that Shyamsundar was returning to Dharwad in his car when he was shot dead by three unidentified men on a Pulsar bike. The men fled the spot immediately after committing the crime.

A complaint has been lodged at the Dharwad Rural Police Station.
