Karwar: One person was killed and 12 others injured when a mini-school bus in which they were travelling from Ranibennur to Visit Marikamba and Banavasi Temple in Sirsi overturned near Banavasi in the Taluk on Friday November 11.
The deceased has been identified as Kasthuramma (50), a school staff. The accident took place near Bugadikoppa Village on the Kumta-Haveri route on National Highway 766 (E) and the school bus was a private school in Sirudanagara in Ranibennur.
It is learnt that the school staff was on their way to have darshan of the deity. A case has been registered at Banavasi Police Station.
