Karwar: A chemical-laden lorry caught fire on National Highway 63 near Vajralli in Ankola Taluk.

According to sources, the fire started as a result of the truck’s collision with another vehicle. It was carrying chemicals from Hubli to Mangaluru via Ankola.

The vehicle was completely destroyed in the fire, but the driver of the lorry managed to escape unharmed.

A team from the fire department, the forest service, and the police arrived at the scene and worked together to put out the fire. A case has been registered at the Ankola Police Station.
