Karwar: The police has succeeded in nabbing the accused who was absconding in connection with the theft case.

The arrested accused has been identified as Yasin Babasaheb Shaikh of Sirsi’s Nehru Nagar.

On March 28, Yasin had barged into the house of an auto driver in Kasturba Nagar in the City and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 7.35 Lakh, including Rs. 30,000 in cash, from a cupboard.

A case has been registered at Sirsi Police Station in connection with the incident and the police has launched a manhunt to trace the accused. The police also seized gold ornaments worth Rs 7.35 Lakh including Rs. 30,000 in cash from the accused.
