Karwar: One person was killed and three seriously injured in an accident between a bus and a bike of a transport company that was leaving from Sirsi. The incident took place near Golyali on the Beedi-Haliyala Road in Khanapur Taluk of Belagavi District.
A North-West Karnataka Transport Corporation bus belonging to the Sirsi Unit was traveling from Sirsi to Belagavi when it collided with a two-wheeler traveling from Beedi towards Kakkeri. At this time, Yallappa Prakash Vannoor (25), Pallavi Vannoor (14), Aishwarya Vannoor (16) and Bhimappa Vannoor (38) of Bagewadi village of Khanapur taluk were seriously injured.
While transporting the injured to the Belagavi District Government Hospital, Yallappa Vannoor died on the way and the condition of the other three is critical and they have been admitted to the Belgavi District Hospital for further treatment.
A case has been registered in Nandagad Police Station.
