Karwar: District BJP President Venkatesh Nayak said that the BJP cadres confidence has increased after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a BJP public rally in the District on May 3.
Addressing a press conference at Pathrakarthara Bhavana in Karwar on Thursday May 4, he exuded confidence that the BJP will win six Assembly seats in the District. More people turned up for the conference than expected, he said and apologised for not being able to give even water to the media due to tight security.
Responding to a question on whether there was news that a party candidate was trying to win over his friend, who is contesting on a JD (S) ticket from another Constituency, the District President said, “I am not aware of this.”
Venkatesh Nayak also replied to the fact that an independent candidate was fielded against the Karwar candidate and said, “There is no information about this. There is no such thing in the party.”
“I condemn the Congress decision of banning Bajrang Dal ,” he said, adding that Hanuman is our God. “The most important deity of South India. It is not right for his group to go ahead with banning the Bajrang Dal. The stand of the Congress party is good for us. Hanuman devotees will take it seriously, he noted.
