Karwar: The lifeguards saved the lives of four from the same family who were on the verge of drowning, here on Monday, April 27.

The tourists Hussain (14), Sajjad (26), Abdullah (20) and Bepari (42), all residents of Belagavi had come down to Gokarna and were enjoying on the shores of the Om beach.

Later, the four decided to play in the ocean water and were swimming. At first, Hussain began drowning, after which the rest three too were seen in trouble.

As the eyewitnesses began screaming, the lifeguards immediately plunged into the water and pulled all the four out.
