This new tiger safari program has been introduced by the forest department as part of their commitment to eco-tourism at PG Palya within the MM Hills wildlife sanctuary. It is located in the center of Karnataka’s southernmost district, Chamarajanagar, which is renowned for its vast and lush woods.
This effort, albeit on a pilot basis, has already succeeded in drawing visitors from near and far who are keen to discover the region’s abundant biodiversity.

In addition to the two already in place at the renowned Bandipur Tiger Reserve and BRT Tiger Reserve, this is the fourth wildlife safari center in the area to be established by the forest department. Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) of MM Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, G Santhosh Kumar, offered his thoughts on this development and mentioned that the wildlife safari experience will continue for more than two months.

Six more safari vehicles are available and will be utilized according on the number of tourists. At the moment, a 10-seater vehicle has been set aside for the safari.

Wildlife activist Mallesh from Hanur taluk applauded the forest department’s innovative action, pointing out that the effort will benefit tourism and provide jobs for the local community.

Positioned in PG Palya on the route to MM Hills, the safari point serves as a gateway not only to wildlife exploration, but also to a broader array of attractions within the Kollegal tourist circuit.

Tourists can seamlessly extend their visit to include exploration of the Dhondenling Tibetan camp, marvel at the majestic Bharachukki Falls, and appreciate the serenity of the Gundal Dam.
