Bangalore : A young woman who was out on bail after being arrested on charges of murdering her fiancé in October last, has ended her life by hanging herself at her house at Peena Dasarahalli on Sunday night.
The woman Sowmya (24) had been arrested by the Bangalore rural police for allegedly killing her fiancé Nitish (27), an Accenture employee with whom she was maritally engaged. The two had met on Facebook.
But Sowmya who noticed Nitish being close with some of his female colleagues, felt something fishy. Very soon she was in an affair with Parshwanath Malagatti whom she also met on Facebook. The two then planned to eliminate Nitish. Sowmya browsed the net to find a way to kill, then procured Ammonium Sulphate from Belgaum with Parshwanath’s help.
On October 21, when she met Nitish at Shilindra Doddi near Bannerghatta and she gave him soft drink laced with the chemical. When he went weak,Parshwanath arrived and they blindfolded Nitish and stabbed him to death. The body was found the next day and the police arrested the duo in Belgaum on October 30 after tracking down the text messages exchanged by them.
Sowmya who was released on bail, had been reportedly reprimanded by her father for bringing disrepute to the family. Reports also said Sowmya had remained depressed since two days. She was found hanging from the ceiling in the hall with the help of her mother’s saree. She had bolted the rooms where her parents and brother were sleeping, from outside.
