Bengaluru: Amid the state-wide bandh called by various farmers’ organisations and supported by several like-minded organisations, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, on Monday, vowed that he will not allow anyone to exploit the farmers.
Addressing the media and the public on social media, he stated that the APMCs will continue to serve the farmers in the state even though a new regime will soon start in the state.
“APMCs will not be abolished. They will serve the farmers. However, in the new system, 80 per cent of the farmers will be benefited,” he said.
“I will personally visit farmers after a few weeks to review how the new system is working. If anyone is found exploiting the farmers, I will not sit silently,” he said.
Saying that he was born a son of a farmer, his utmost priority is protecting the interest of the farming community.
