Bengaluru: In a shocking incident reported from the KR Puram area of the city, a 33-year-old woman software engineer went absconding after murdering her mother and assaulting her brother. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The incident sent shockwaves across the city as it is the first such incident of the year.
According to the police, the deceased is identified as Nirmala (55), a resident of Akshayanagar in KR Puram. Harish (31), the brother, was admitted to a private hospital for his injuries. The accused is Amrita (33).
Police have informed that Amrita is a software engineer and recently got a job in an MNC in Hyderabad. She allegedly murdered her mother by stabbing her with a knife. The incident came to light when she attacked her brother Harish also.
“Based on the complaint lodged by Harish, an FIR has been registered,” informed the police.
Police are investigating the case from all angles, including secret love affair, parental objection to the inter-caste marriage and financial crisis in the family.
Nirmala was a resident of Davanagere and recently moved to Bengaluru to help her children who are both software engineers.
