Bengaluru: Two days after allegedly murdering her mother and injuring her brother, Amrita, a woman techie, was arrested in the Andaman Islands along with her boyfriend.

It can be recalled that two days ago, Amrita (33) absconded after murdering her mother, Nirmala (55), a resident of Akshayanagar in KR Puram and injuring her brother, Harish (31). The case is being investigated by the KR Puram police.

Amrita and her boyfriend Shridhara Rao were found hiding in the Andaman islands and were arrested. The duo was arrested by a team of police led by KR Puram police inspector Ambareesh.

“Shridhara Rao’s bike was found at KIAL. Based on this, the police carried out an investigation and found that the two are in Andaman,” said police sources.

The duo will be brought back to the city after taking permission from a local court on Thursday.
