Bengaluru: A woman died when she reportedly slipped from a train while trying to alight at K.R. Puram railway station on Saturday.

The Railway police have identified the victim as Eshwaramma, 65, a resident of Vijayawada who had come to Bengaluru with her husband and daughter to attend a birthday party in Marathahalli.

The police said that around 4.30 p.m., the train was passing through K.R. Puram railway station and was moving slowly. Eshwaramma’s husband and daughter got off the train. When Eshwaramma was about to alight, the train picked up speed. She slipped and fell under the train.
