Bengaluru: Days after pro-IS tweeter Mehdi Masroor Biswas was arrested, Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths found a woman, who claimed her son to be an IS agent, recently.
Reportedly, the woman pleaded wit the Bengaluru police to investigate her own son for any terror links, after her son converted to Islam and turned orthodox.
In another case, a woman had written a letter to a prominent newspaper in the city, airing her suspicions about a group of youths suddenly turning orthodox and eulogising jihadis in her locality, in East Bengaluru.
From the past few months the city police have received several such tip-offs. However, none of the persons questioned were linked to any radical outfit. The police counseled them and let them free.
Meanwhile, security agencies around the country are in constant worry about individuals, who may be influenced by social media propaganda by terror groups. vigilance has also been increased around the city.
