Woman allegedly gangraped by Manipur minister’s son, friends

Bengaluru: In yet another shocking incident, a gang rape involving kin of a minister from Manipur has been reported on Sunday night.

Kerala rape-murder case: Investigation team nabs culprit-1The incident came to light on Wednesday. It is said that the victim abstained from lodging a complaint regarding the incident out of fear as the son of a minister was involved.

According to the police sources, the incident happened on Sunday late night at an apartment near Celebrity Homes close to Electronic city when the woman aged about 26 years was returning home after a party.

A gang of four members including the son of a minister from Manipur allegedly kidnapped and raped her in an apartment and left the place. Later, the victim came to know that one of the offenders is kin of a minister and decided to abstain from lodging a complaint.

The incident came to light through her roommate and the police are investigating the case. The apartment, where the incident occurred, is largely occupied by techies and one of her friend lives there.

The victim was asked to come near the apartment by a person known to her. He later raped her with others. Later, they called on her mobile phone and warned her of dire consequences if she goes to the police, sources said.
