Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has urged the union government to withdraw the CAA to bring back normalcy across the country.
“Today the country is burning. As many as 17 states are passing a resolution against the central government. The country is witnessing a serious crisis following the enactment of the CAA. Keeping in mind the interest of the country, the central government must withdraw the CAA,” he urged.
“Today the country is getting divided on the religious lines. It is a bad sign,” he warned.
Hitting out at the BJP national leadership, he stated that it is impossible to convert secular India into a Hindu Rashtra. “Please stop your foolish act. Country is facing worst-ever crisis,” he said.
He also stated that the BJP government in the state is a big failure. “There are no jobs. Farm sector is bleeding. Where is the government,” he questioned.
