Bengaluru: Trouble has been brewing inside the BJP house and this has been out in the open with two senior leaders – B S Yeddyurappa and KS Eshwarappa washing dirty linen in public. But, with the ‘unhappy’ gang within the party all set to meet at Palace Grounds on Thursday, April 27 with the theme of ‘Save the Organisation’ has only caused more embarrassment to the national party, which once basked over its unity.
Not tolerating the dissent, BJP National Chief Amit Shah is believed to have given a warning to the leaders to remain away from the convention and put up a unity show in the state. The warning has been sent through BJP state In-charge Muralidhar Rao. Shah is said to be keeping close tabs on the movement of the state BJP and he has also directed Rao to send in a report if the convention takes place brushing aside his warning. The convention is an idea of the ‘Rayanna Brigade’, which has become a hard pill to swallow for the BJP.
But, the upset old guard of the BJP say that the ‘Save the Organisation’ convention is imperative keeping in mind the upcoming 2018 polls. They are of the argument that BJP State President BS Yeddyurappa is doing more harm to the party than good. His authoritative style of functioning and trend of making unilateral decisions will kill the organisation and the result of the same was evident in the Gundlupet/Nanjangud by-polls, say the unhappy gang of leaders.
BJY v/s KS Eshwarappa
Ultimately, the entire episode of the convention has yet again boiled down to being a war between Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa. It is said that BSY is sharpening his knives to take action against Eshwarappa, if in case the latter takes part in the convention.
However, what comes across to be comical about the convention is the poster of the event, which carries pictures of national leaders and BSY as well.
All in all, the convention has turned into a nail-biting episode in Karnataka’s political story as everyone is eager to know if the convention would take place or not.
