Bengaluru: The 25-year-old woman, who was assaulted, allegedly, by her husband with a frying pan rending her partially blind over a domestic row died on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Tikina Ojha, a native of Odisha, who had come to the city a fortnight ago with her husband, Prahlad Ojha, to work as labourers in a construction company.

The couple was living in a rented house in Nagenahalli in Kothanuru. The accused, suspecting his wife’s fidelity, allegedly often assaulted her.

On Wednesday night, Prahlad allegedly attacked her with a frying pan, accusing her of talking to men. Tikina had sustained severe head injuries and also lost her vision due to multiple blows on her head.

She was rushed to a private hospital where she succumbed in the early hours of Thursday.

The Kothanuru police have registered a case of murder and arrested Prahlad from a burial ground near Nagenahalli.

Local people informed the police when Prahlad was moving suspiciously in the burial ground. It was said the accused was wandering in the burial ground since he has no money to go his native (Odisha) after attacking his wife with a frying pan.
