Bengaluru: The white topping, one of the ambitious projects of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) that was supposed to be completed by May is expected to complete by August or September.
The BBMP officials have agreed that the white topping project is progressing at a snail’s pace.
Raja Rajeswari Nagar MLA Munirathna, who attended the BBMP Council meeting on Monday said that the white-topping work near Guruguntepalya on Tumakuru Road has blocked the national highway.
“Out of the 13-km stretch, only 500 meters has been completed,” Muniratna said.
Speaking about the delay in implementing the white topping project, BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said there is a delay and there are a lot of issues that are rising such as traffic and difficulty in finding alternate routes. “But we have been working day and night towards it,” Prasad said.
“The work on the outer ring road, from Hennur Road to KR Puram is going on at a fast pace,” he added.
