Bengaluru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah, taking a dig at the BJP, asked all its 27 candidates to wear a burkha and seek votes as they are not approaching the voters on their own merits.

Addressing a JDS-Congress convention in Bengaluru, he stated that all the BJP candidates are asking voters to vote for BJP seeing Modi’s face. “Then what is the need of showing your face,” he questioned the BJP candidates.

“Bengaluru North MP D V Sadananda Gowda’s achievement is zero. Gowda is from Sullia and he is an ‘Are Vokkaliga’. Krishna Byregowda is from Bengaluru North itself and you can meet him any time. You need to send DVS back to Sullia or Puttur,” he said campaigning for Krishna Byregowda.

He also stated that Modi removed DVS from his cabinet after knowing that he is not capable of delivering. “Why do you need such an incapable MP for Bengaluru,” he questioned.
