Bengaluru: Sudhakar Shetty, a doctor who has been dragged into Siddaramaiah’s watch controversy has denied all the allegations made by JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy. Dr. Shetty met Police Commissioner N.S. Megharikh on Monday and informed that the watch was not his.

Last week, JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy had alleged that the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was wearing a stolen watch, which was owned by Sudhakar Shetty.

Dr. Shetty had an hour-long meeting with the Commissioner on Monday.

Police Commissioner, Megharikh said that following media reports, Dr. Shetty had met him and clarified that the watch, which was stolen from his house last year, was not his.

According to police sources, Dr. Shetty never owned a Hublot watch, the brand of the luxury watch owned by Siddaramaiah.

HDK last week raked up the issue that the CM is wearing a luxury watch costing Rs 70 lakhs. However, CM had rubbished all the allegations made by the JD(S) leader and declared the watch as state asset. He revealed that the expensive watch was gifted to him by his close friend since 1983, (NRI) Gopal Pillai Girish Chandra Verma who visited India last July.
