Bengaluru : The Congress high command has sought a detailed report on the political implications, following the exit of former Chief Minister S M Krishna from Congress.

Senior Congress leader and leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has been assigned to assess the political fallout on state congress following Krishna’s exit. He is likely to meet state congress leaders during his visit to Bengaluru today to attend state Minister Roshan Baig’s Son’s wedding reception in Palace grounds.

The high command has also sought details into the party’s preparedness for Nanajanagud and Gundlupet by-polls.

At the same time, it has asked Congress Vokkaliga ministers D K Shivakumar, Krishna Byregowda and leader Rajugowda to take on Krishna strongly to counter his influence in order to retain the Congress vote bank in the old Mysuru region. This move may turn a bitter pill for leaders like D K Shivakumar and others from the region for reasons well known!
