Bengaluru: Dr Surendra Kumar Jain, Joint General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Saturday urged the state government not to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi.
Speaking to media persons, Dr. Jain said the VHP volunteers would not allow the state government to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi. “The VHP volunteers will organise protests across the state on November 10,’’ Dr Jain said.
He said that Ravi was killed at Maganahalli of Periyapatna taluk by Jihadists for opposing the celebration of Tipu Jayanti. “People don’t need to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi. Last year VHP leader Kuttappa was killed in Madikeri in a clash over this. This year Ravi was killed simply for opposing it. How many lives do you want to stop it?”, he asked.
