Bengaluru: Veteran actor Loknath, 90, who entered the Sandalwood through iconic Samskara movie based on writer UR Ananthamurthy’s novel died on wee hours of Monday. He is survived by a son and four daughters.

The final rites will be held today evening. His mortal remains will be kept at the town hall of the city between 12 noon and 2.30 pm for the public homage.

Loknath, who acted in more than 650 Kannada movies acted with most of the Kannada film stars. An engineering graduate, he acted in theater, silver screen and hundreds of Kannada serials making him a household name.
