Bengaluru: The vaccination coverage in rural areas is less compared to the urban areas as many people still have vaccine hesitation. Due to the good monsoon rainfall, farming activities in rural areas have picked up. As a result, farmers and farm labourers have been unable to receive vaccinations.
In a first-of-its-kind experiment in the State, Yadgir district administration launched a unique experiment called vaccine express. Under this initiative, Care Foundation provided over 10 vehicles to the district administration. The villagers can inform the local authorities about the convenient time for vaccination in their villages. The para medical staff will visit the villages in the stipulated time and administer vaccines.
Each vehicle will have computer operator and paramedical staff who will visit the villages to the administer vaccination drive. The initiative has helped the people to get the vaccination at their door step.
Meanwhile, the vaccination drives further picked up in the State with enough supply of vaccine vials. According to the authorities, no shortage is now being reported from any place.
