Bangalore : Last year from September 1st to December 20th, 14,441 cattle have been killed due to foot-mouth fever, said Animal husbandry minister T B Jayachandra.

To prevent this disease 6 phases of vaccination will be provided. 98 per cent of the work is already done in this regard.

While answering JDS leader Cheluvarayaswamy’s question he said that we have already given Rs 23,73,90,000 to the owners whose cattle died due to this disease. Within another week we will appoint 233 veterinery assistants, he said.
