Mangaluru: Karnataka Minister for Health U T Khader has always made attempts to provide better health care facilities to people and his efforts were aptly recognised by the central government in the form of an award.
U T Khader was conferred a national award by the government of India for the outstanding service of health department Karnataka under his leadership.

The award was presented by the Union Minister for Finance and Information and Broadcasting Arun Jaitely on the occasion of International Day for Persons with Disabilities, on December 3 in New Delhi.
The award conferred by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a citation.
The award was presented to Mr Khader’s department under the best employer category for providing as many as one hundred Group D Jobs to leprosy cured persons, with Grade-2 deformity in a single calendar year.
