Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has denied allegations that its State president B.S. Yeddyurappa had received kickbacks of over Rs. 4.11 crore from RNS Infrastructure Limited (RNSIL) for awarding tender works for the Upper Bhadra Project.

Referring to the notice issued by the I-T Department, a release by the BJP claimed that Yeddyurappa had clarified to the I-T Department that he had nothing to do with transactions related to the Upper Bhadra Project.

The release maintained that the Lokayukta police had already inquired into the matter and filed a ‘B’ report.

When a lower court disagreed with the report, the matter had been challenged by Yeddyurappa before the Karnataka High Court, which had quashed the first information report (FIR) itself, the release said.

It said that Yeddyurappa has already said he has nothing to do with the RNSIL.
