Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday observed that there is no evidence against all the five charges levelled against Upa Lokayukta Subhash Adi by the Congress party.
Justice Budihal panel after passing the order to drop the dismissal procedure initiated by the Congress Legislative party in the Assembly, observed in its 350-page judgement, “have gone through the oral and written material placed on record, I am of the opinion that the complainants have failed to prove the charges with cogent, acceptable and satisfactory material.”
The state government was represented by additional advocate general Ponnanna.
BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa reacting to the court order said that the CM should apolozise to the state for indulging in vindictive politics and with these baseless allegation the government had attempted to weaken Lokayukta.
Meanwhile, Congress MLC, V.S. Ugrappa, however contended that Justice Adi was involved in irregularities and the court’s decision was unfortunate.
The court order in favour of Upa Lokayukta comes as a major development which could cause huge embarassment to the Siddaramaiah government.
