Bengaluru: Two engineering students who were returning after celebrating a friend’s birthday, died on the spot when the car in which they were travelling, hit a roadside tree. Two others travelling in the same car, were injured in the accident.

The incident was reported last night on the city’s outskirts.

According to the Chikkaballapura traffic police, who registered a case in this regard, the deceased are identified as Hanumesh and Puneeth, both aged 22.

The two others, who were also travelling in the car – Nandish and Puneeth – were admitted to a city hospital after receiving first aid at the Chikkaballapur district hospital.

According to sources, all the four were returning after celebrating Nandish’s birthday in the Nandi Hills.

“More details are awaited. The bodies of the deceased students will be handed over to the parents after a postmortem,” informed the police.
