Bengaluru: The KG Halli police have arrested two habitual offenders, who hired a cab pretending to be customers and then tried to carjack by pushing the driver out of the vehicle.The police have identified the accused as Sheikh Shahnawaz (20), a resident of DJ Halli, and Syed Abbas (19) of KG Halli. The police have nabbed them after a hot chase during which policemen also sustained injuries.

According to the police, the duo boarded an Uber cab at around 11.30 pm on January 5. On the way, Shivanna, the cab driver, stopped the car to attend nature’s call. When the driver returned to the vehicle, the duo threatened him at knifepoint, shoved him asked and made off with the car. Shivanna rushed to the KH Halli police station and filed a complaint.

The police managed to track down the car near Nagawara Junction.
