Bengaluru: Jalahalli police has arrested two members of a chain snatching Irani gang which had earlier visited Mumbai, snatched gold chains and left. They had returned again for another round of chain snatching when they fell into police net.

Asif Rehamat Khan (36) and Hasmukh Phukraj Surana (46) are the two arrested. The duo confessed to police that they would arrive by flights as they were afraid of being caught while travelling on road. They would fly every time here when their money would get exhausted. Staying in lodges and robbing motorcycles to help commit crime, they would snatch gold chains from the necks of women.

The duo also told police that they would commit the crime to live a luxurious life and would stay for four to five days during every visit.

The accused had stolen a mangalasutra chain from a woman on September 13 at Sundaranagara in Gokulam. During the course of investigation, the police found that the bike they used to commit the crime was sold to someone by the original owner. The police found the accused when they called the phone number of the person who had brought the motorcycle.
