Bengaluru: The 17-year-old student who claimed responsibility for the Church Street blast, fell to a simple trick by the police.
The handler of @LatestAbdul, a Twitter account, did not know that it was a trap laid by police when he got a call from a ‘terrorist’.

Police sources said that soon after @LatestAbdul posted tweets, they requested Twitter to provide the account details and got the handler’s phone number.
“Senior cops deployed another officer to contact him. The officer, who contacted @LatestAbdul over phone introduced himself as a leader of a terror outfit and praised him for supporting their cause. The officer also told him that he wanted to give him Rs 10 lakh as reward and asked him to come to KR Market. The student came near the market in the evening,” the source said.
The student is a resident of Brindavan Nagar near Srinagar and studies in a prestigious college in Dakshina Kannada district.
