Tumakuru: Due to late night rains, the Shettihalli underpass in the centre part of City has been filled with water and public traffic has been disrupted.

The city’s Shettihalli underpass has more than six feet of water and become like a lake causing serious problems for college and office goers in the morning.

S. I. T and S. S. Puram low-rise houses are flooded. Tumakuru which is being called as a smart city, has many problems after the implementation of the smart city projects. Every year soon after the rains start, the Shettihalli underpass and the monkey grove have water standing like a lake.

This underpass constructed by Urban Development Authority is acting as if I have nothing to do with the underpass after its construction. It is like this in the beginning, before the onset of monsoon season, the people of Echhattu, Shettihalli, Marutinagar, Nripatunga Barangay, and Jayanagar should be observed and alternative arrangements should be made to prevent water stagnation in the under pass.
