Tumakuru: “A massive convention of Veerashaiva Lingayat community in support of Koratagere MLA Dr. G. Parameshwara will be held at Maruthi Kalyana Mantapa in the Town on Thursady April 13 at 10.30 am,” said Rudraprasad.
He was speaking at a preparatory meeting of Veerashaiva Lingayat Sammelan at Rajiv Bhavan in the Town where 90 per cent of the Veerashaiva Lingayat Community in the constituency supports Dr. G. Parameshwara, the Congress party has made around 4 Veerashaiva Lingayat community chief ministers, Virendra Patil has been made the Chief Minister and the party has sent him home with respect due to his ill health. But the BJP, which exploited the Veerashaiva Lingayat votes for their selfish ends, used our community leader B. S. Yediyurappa in the elections to shed tears on the pretext of ill-health and removed him from the Chief Minister’s post and sent him to jail.
Yediyurappa is not old enough to bring the BJP to power in the State to organise the party in the State but is giving him the excuse of age to give him the Chief Minister’s post. The BJP is harassing Vijayendra and hence Veerashaiva will support the Congress party.
