Tumakuru: The people of the Taluk have been literally devastated by the incessant rains that have damaged the roads and uprooted electricity poles and trees. The Holavanahalli- B. D. Pura road has been cut off and life has been disrupted. The bridge in Lankanahalli Village has completely collapsed.

The plight of the farmers who have been affected by the rains is indescribable.

Two months ago, heavy rains had flooded several houses in the Taluk and destroyed some of the houses. On that occasion, Sri Japananda Swamiji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Pavagada, distributed grocery kits, blankets and tarpaulins to the flood victims through Tahasildar Nahida Jamjam.

Vehicular traffic has been completely stopped due to heavy rains on the bridge on the road leading to Holavanahalli B. D. Pura due to heavy rains and the Garudachala River is flowing.

Thousands of people in and around Holavanahalli, the hub of the Hobli, were using only 5-6 kilometres to come for their business. But now due to excessive rainfall, farmers and the public in the neighbourhood have to use around 20 to 25 kilometres long route.
