Tumakuru: Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara said that the BJP Government is doing politics over drinking water. He further asked, “Why is the BESCOM Department operating only in Koratagere? He warned that the State Government is responsible if the health of the poor is affected due to lack of clean drinking water.

He was addressing a press conference after a meeting of booth committee members organised by the Congress party at Maruthi Kalyana Mandapam in Koratagere Town on Monday December 19. He alleged, “Where did the money for drinking water collected from the poor people go? “The State Government is doing politics over the issue of drinking water. Let the government conduct an inquiry into the amount of money collected by the contractor, he asserted.

He urged the BESCOM Department to immediately provide electricity connections to the water units. The Central Government has rejected the State Government’s order to increase the reservation. On the sidelines of the Lok Sabha itself, the BJP’s Central Government’s ministers have informed about the rejection of the reservation hike. He said that the State Government has not made the reservation hike constitutionally but by beinc politically motivated.
