Tumakuru: Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Vice-president Rahul Gandhi will reportedly tour Karnataka in the month of December, ahead of the upcoming zilla and taluk panchayats elections.

Addressing the press on Saturday November 15, KPCC president Dr G Parameshwa informed that the leader with visit the State in order to strengthen the ruling Congress party even more in the State.

The party would shortly launch a state-wide campaign to create awareness about programmes implemented by the previous UPA government across the country and the state government, he added.

Dr. Parameshwar said the much-delayed appointment of chairpersons for state-owned boards and corporations would be completed by the end of the month as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and himself are scheduled to meet Mrs Gandhi and other senior central leaders of the party on November 20.

Moreover, the issue of internal elections in the state unit of Congress would figure in the discussions, he added.
