Police successfully nab rape and murder accused absconding for 25 yrs

Tumakuru: Police on Monday, February 17, successfully nabbed a criminal who had been accused of the rape and murder of a woman 25 years ago.

Superintendent of Police Dr K Vamshi Krishna informed that the accused, Siddahanumaiah, who had allegedly raped and brutally murdered Eramallamma, a resident of the Karkallughatta village in the Koratagere town in the year 1994, had fled the village and was absconding ever since the incident.

He said, “We had created a team led by Koratagere Sub Inspector B C Manjunath, along with staff Venkatesh and Doddalingaiah. The team received a tip-off that the accused was working in Bettahalli near Nelamangala. The team was successful in arresting Siddahanumaiah.”
