Netravathi diversion project architect GS Paramashivaiah passes away

Tumkur :  Noted irrigation expert Dr GS Paramashivaiah who was known for  his report on the Netravathi Diversion Project recommended by him, has  breathed his last on March 11, Tuesday afternoon after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Ninety seven year old Paramashivaiah who was suffering from breathing problems  passed away at a private hospital at  Tumkur where he was undergoing treatment.

Paramashivaiah  who was a retired chief engineer had in his report submitted to the government recommend  the Netravathi river diversion project to  solve the water scarcity in  Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Bangalore Rural and Tumkur districts. He had even warned of staging a hunger strike in front of Vidhana Saudha if the report was not implemented.
