Tumkur: State Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs TB Jayachandra has said that  abstention of MLAs from the assembly sessions is tantamount to dereliction of duty.

Speaking to reporters at Tumkur, he said it is mandatory for MLAs to take part in the session. If they abstain, it is as good as insulting the House, he further added.

On the disturbances  by MES,  the minister said the Government has taken measures to put a brake to the same.  The MES is violating the  law and if it continues with such acts then legal action will be taken, he warned.
