Tumakuru: A five-year-old was hunted down and killed by a ferocious leopard in the Manikuppe village of the Gubbi town on Thursday, January 9.

The deceased child is identified as Samartha Gowda (5).

According to reports, this is the third leopard attack in three months.

The district administration had ordered officials to shoot the leopard on sight, however, this has turned out to be unsuccessful.

The villagers have accused the district administration of negligence and have also criticized the forest department.

Meanwhile, Turuvekere Constituency MLA Masala Jayaram reached the spot and assessed the situation.
