Tumakuru: Three-time MP and senior Congress leader C P Mudalagiriyappa’s son Dr Rajesh Gowda and Nadur and Madalur GP members were welcomed into the party by BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Dr Rajesh Gowda is founder and director at Matrix Imaging Solutions; which was previously headed by Siddaramiah’s son, Dr Yathindra as the director.

Dr Yahthindra had to step down in 2016 following a controversy that the company had won a floating tender with a PMSSy hospital by seeking favours with the party during his father’s term in the office.

According to reports, several other leaders, including Taluq Panchayath members and former Municipal members, joined the BJP. The primary membership for BJP was given on the spot.

Celebrating his acceptance after joining the BJP, Dr Rajesh Gowda said, “The very last person in our country has the right to live a good life and for this, we need a good political platform. I am a doctor. I have always supported the BJP without being in politics. He said he was happy that he is joining BJP today.”

“My father (C P Mudalagiriyappa) was a 3-time MP and was once the MLA of Sira. The people of the constituency insisted on me getting into politics. I thought that if I joined the party, it would be the BJP. We are flying the BJP’s victory banner in the Sira constituency,” he added.

“I joined as a simple party member today. The party will decide on the ticket issue. I work as a loyalist to whom the party is issuing the ticket. I have liked the leadership of the party and hence I have joined the party, ” added Dr Rajesh Gowda.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, the BJP state president said that “This time BJP’s victory in Sira is confirmed. Today, many leaders have joined the BJP. With all their effort, the BJP will win in Sira for sure”.
