Tumakuru: A law student and a leader of a student federation were violently attacked by a gang of ABVP activists while distributing pamphlets recently.

Jyothi K, a second-semester law student of Vidyodaya Law College, said that they even threatened to kill her if she was seen in Tumakru again.
She said that she and All India Youth Federation, State Vice-President, V Chinnappa were beaten up for distributing pamphlets criticizing the saffronisation of education.
A case of physical assault was lodged in the New Extension Police Station on March 30 by the duo.
ABVP accused the duo of sedition and said that they were shouting pro-Pakistan slogans. They said that the pamphlets criticized BJP and RSS and also expressed support for Kanhaiya Kumar who was recently in news for sedition.
A case of sedition was registered by an ABVP worker on March 31.
The police said that the investigations are on and no arrests have been made yet.
