Tumkur: Centenarian Pontiff of Siddaganga Matt Shree Shivakumara Swamiji who was unwell from past many days left the earthly abode here on Monday, January 21.

After the news was officially broken by the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, condolences started pouring in from the political fraternity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, AICC President Rahul Gandhi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, and Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah were the first among the political leaders tweeting their condolences.

As the tweets increased every minute, Shivakumara Swamiji’s Twitter handles topped on the list of Twitter India trends.

Four of his hashtags are at the top 10, namely #ShivakumaraSwamiji at first, #SiddagangaMutt at third, #Siddagangasree at sixth and #SiddagangaMath at ninth.
