Bengaluru: The crucial meeting between Minister of Transport Ramalinga Reddy and state transport employees again failed as the government stuck to its earlier pay hike offer. However, in a significant move, the agitating transport employees slashed down their demand for hike from 35 per cent to 18 per cent. But, even this was turned down by the government, which remained adamant on 10 per cent hike.

Minister assured the newly framed demand will be put forth in the cabinet meeting which I scheduled in the evening.

The bargain has some signs of relief foreseen which could yield fruitful results by the end of the day, on lookers said.

It is said that government might offer 12.5 percent hike as Reddy earlier proposed to the CM. As the angst against government is rousing on the issue, Siddaramaiah might bow down to Reddy’s advice on the issue.
