Bengaluru: In a tragic incident a three-year-old child was found dead in a garbage heap in Gopalappa Layout in Hebbal on Thursday.

Trisha, daughter of Vijay Tamang and Seema Tamang, is identified as the deceased. The couple hails from West Bengal and were staying in Gopalappa Layout.

According to sources, on Thursday, the child had ventured out of the house to play at around 7 p.m. An hour later, when the mother of the child went to bring her inside, she was nowhere to be found. She immediately informed her husband and they approached the police.

Police found the child’s body around 11 p.m. in a garbage heap close to the house. There were no external injuries on the body. Police are awaiting the autopsy report to ascertain the cause of death.

They are questioning the neighbours in pursuit of a lead on the culprit.
