Bengaluru: Three people were arrested by Byatarayanapura police on charges of robbing a probationary police sub-inspector on September 13. The police have identified the arrested persons as Kamal Singh (19) of Nayandahalli, Pratap Kumar (21) of Maddur and Adarsh alias Boda (19) of IDI Layout in Bengaluru.
According to the police, Shivarajkumar, the probationary police sub-inspector, was returning to Jnanabharathi campus where accommodation was provided for probationary police inspectors after attending duty at Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station (City Railway Station). Shivarajkumar alighted from a BMTC bus at Gopalan Arcade Mall near Jnanabharathi campus. The three accused mistook Shivarajkumar, who was in mufti, as a civilian and attacked him. They robbed him of his two mobile phones.
The arrested persons have been remanded to judicial custody.
