Bengaluru: Bellandur lake is dying and the scenes that unfurled at Ulsoor lake on Monday morning strongly evinced that even iconic Ulsoor lake too may be dying.

Thousands of dead fish were seen floating on the banks of the lake, which left the onlookers in state of shock.

Obviously, rise in water pollution level has reportedly caused the death of the fish, as per one section of experts.

The pollution level in the Ulsoor lake has been a cause of concern for some time now. The government and the municipal corporation may have announced many measures to clean up the lake but the dead fish tell another story.

However, many say that thousands of fish die every March when the dissolved oxygen level decreases in the lake…untreated sewage flowing into the lake chokes the life out of the lake.

Another section argues that fish have died of suffocation, which is natural when the number of fish increases and water starts drying up.

The reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, foul smell of dead fish is rapidly engulfing the area, which is now a major cause of concern for the locals residents.

The BBMP officials and other officials concerned are into action to sort out the issue
